Introduction
StoreHugs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an ecommerce platform and related services through www.storehugs.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and share information when you visit our website or use our services, including when you sign in with Google or connect a Google service to your store.
Information we collect
When you create an account, contact us, or purchase our services, we may collect information you provide, such as your name, email address, company name, billing details, and the contents of your communications with us.
We may also collect technical information about your use of our website and platform, such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, and interactions with our services.
Information about your customers
If you use StoreHugs to run an ecommerce business, you may provide information about your customers, such as names, email addresses, shipping addresses, and order details. We process this information on your behalf to provide the StoreHugs service, subject to your instructions and applicable law.
Google user data
StoreHugs uses Google APIs for Google Sign-In and for optional Google integrations. Signing in and connecting an integration are separate choices. We access information from an integration only after an authorized user grants the relevant permissions through Google.
Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name, email address, and profile picture. We use this information to create or identify your StoreHugs account, sign you in, display your account information, and help secure your account.
Google Sign-In alone does not give StoreHugs access to your Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Gmail, or Google Drive data.
Google integrations for your store
A store owner or authorized staff member may choose to connect Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Google Search Console from the Digital Marketing section of the StoreHugs panel. We access the connected service to provide its features for your store, subject to the permissions granted through Google.
With your permission, StoreHugs may use Google Search Console and Google Site Verification to verify ownership of your store’s domain; read search performance information, including clicks, impressions, queries, and pages; read sitemap and indexing information; submit sitemaps; and request URL inspections. We store URL inspection results so they can be displayed in your StoreHugs panel.
With your permission, StoreHugs may read your Google Analytics accounts, properties, data streams, and reports for the property you select. When you ask us to set up tracking, StoreHugs may also create or configure Analytics properties and data streams.
With your permission, StoreHugs may read your Google Tag Manager accounts and containers and create, edit, or publish tags and container versions in the container you select to set up or maintain tracking on your storefront.
We use information from these integrations to display reports and insights about your store and to set up or maintain the tracking features you request. Insights displayed in the panel are calculated automatically from your connected data. We do not use Google user data to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
How we share Google user data
We do not sell Google user data or share it with data brokers or information resellers. We do not share or transfer Google user data to advertising platforms, including Meta, Snapchat, or other marketing platforms connected to StoreHugs. We do not use Google user data for advertising, retargeting, personalized or interest-based advertising, creditworthiness assessments, or lending purposes.
Google user data may be disclosed to the following recipients for the purposes described:
You and your authorized store team: The store owner and staff members given the relevant permissions may view connected information in the StoreHugs panel.
Google: StoreHugs sends requests to Google APIs to provide the Google features you have authorized.
Hosting and infrastructure providers: Providers that host StoreHugs, its database, or its backups may process Google user data on our behalf to operate and protect the service. They are subject to applicable confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Legal authorities: We may disclose information when required by applicable law, regulation, valid legal process, or an enforceable government request, or where necessary to address a security threat as permitted by law.
If you export a report as a CSV or PDF file, the exported file may contain information from your connected Google service. You control how you use or share a file after downloading it.
StoreHugs personnel do not read Google user data unless you give us explicit permission to do so, such as for a support request; access is necessary to investigate abuse or a security issue; or access is required by law.
StoreHugs’ use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.developers.google
How we use other information
We use information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve StoreHugs; manage accounts; process payments; provide support; and communicate about accounts, service changes, and security matters. We may use aggregated or anonymized information for analytics and product development where it does not identify an individual.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent, as appropriate. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails.
Website analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the StoreHugs website, such as which pages they visit and how they interact with the site. We use Google Search Console to monitor the StoreHugs website’s presence and performance in Google Search. Our use of these tools for our own website is separate from a store owner’s choice to connect Google services to their store.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect accounts, and understand website usage. Google Analytics may collect information through cookies or similar technologies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although disabling some cookies may affect the service. You can learn more about Google’s data practices in Google’s Privacy Policy.
Other service providers
We may use providers for hosting, payment processing, analytics, and email delivery to operate StoreHugs. They receive information needed to perform their services. The recipients of data obtained through Google APIs are specifically described in “How we share Google user data” above; not every provider listed in this section receives Google user data.
Storage, retention, and security
We store Google account information and the authorization credentials needed to provide the Google features you connect. We may temporarily cache information from connected services to operate the panel. We store URL inspection results so they can be displayed in your panel.
We retain personal information while it is needed to provide our services and afterward where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect our services. Disconnecting a Google integration ends StoreHugs’ use of that connection, but it does not necessarily delete URL inspection results or other information previously stored in your StoreHugs account. You may request deletion of that information by contacting us at [email protected], subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
We use technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration, including encrypted connections when transmitting data. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You may disconnect a Google integration through the StoreHugs panel or remove StoreHugs’ access through your Google Account connections settings. Removing Google access does not, by itself, delete your StoreHugs account or information previously stored in it.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, object to certain processing, or request a copy of your data. To make a request—including a request to delete stored Google data or your StoreHugs account—contact [email protected]. We will handle requests in accordance with applicable law.
Children’s privacy
StoreHugs is not directed to children under 18, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, practices, or legal requirements. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where appropriate. If we plan to use Google user data for a new purpose, we will provide notice and obtain any consent required before doing so.developers.google
